I have always been interested in food and nutrition and worked as a
chef
prior to under-taking a degree in Food, Nutrition and Consumer Protection at
Bath Spa University and graduated with a BSc in 2005.
In 2001 I gained a diploma in fitness awarded by West Berkshire Council. Also in
2001 I graduated with a diploma in Human Nutrition Skills from Stonebridge
Associated College.
As a nutritional therapist my purpose is to help people lead a healthy, long
life, free from disease. I also aim to help the overweight and obese lose
excess fat through diet, healthy eating for life and exercise. A
healthy
diet is not just leaves but a diet high in complex carbohydrates, low in fat
and sugar and high in fruit and vegetables with the occasional treat.
I am currently under-taking further studies in food allergies and intolerance. I
have spoken twice on Kick FM (Newbury's radio station) on healthy school
lunch-boxes and a weight control diet for the New Year, and have spoken on TV on
food combining and dietary problems.
My message to you today is:
"Challenge yourself, you may surprise yourself at what strengths you have and by
what you can accomplish."
